Guidelines
Children 12 and under are always free at Blues
Blast. Coolers or outside food and beverages may
not be brought into the Amphitheatre, but sealed
bottles of water are permitted. BBQ and other concessions will be available for purchase. Bring a
blanket for festival seating ... lawn chairs are OK
in selected areas of the Amphitheatre. Video cameras
are not permitted, but still cameras may be used.

The first blues festival of the calendar year in
the United States is Blues Blast 2009 on
February 21st. Hosted annually by the
Phoenix Blues Society, Blues Blast takes place in the beautiful
grassy-sloped
Mesa Amphitheatre.
Appearing at Blues Blast 2009 will
be Janiva Magness, Omar & the Howlers, The Juke Joint
Duo (Lightnin' Malcolm & Cedric Burnside), The Sugar Thieves
(formerly The Mikel Lander -
Meridith Moore Band), a Phoenix Blues Artist Showcase and
Retrospective, Kathy Mabry, and Kevin Casenhiser. The show
will start at 11:00 am; gates will open at 10:00 am.

Glass, supporting legendary Phoenix musicians Hans Olson, Small Paul
Hamilton, Big Pete Pearson, Margo Reed, George Bowman, Chuck Hall, the
Chief, Nancy Delassandro, Rochelle Roya, Bob Corritore, Jim Dorholt, Mario
Moreno, Jimmy Peyton, Johnny Rapp, Paul Thomas, Bill & Susie Tarsha and Matt
Roe. This promises to be a very special performance and one not to be
missed!
